EMPLOYEE DRESS CODE

All teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, central office professional staff, and school office staff shall be expected to wear attire which will promote and bring dignity to the teaching profession.  The Caldwell Parish School Board believes all employees, by observing the following objectives and guidelines concerning employee dress, will demonstrate to the students and public of Caldwell Parish an attitude of professionalism and leadership.

Principals may designate appropriate dress for Special Days (Spirit Days).

DRESS CODE OBJECTIVES

1. To impact attitudes of respect and professionalism given to our employees.
   
   

2. To set examples as a part of our responsibilities to our students.

FEMALE EMPLOYEE DRESS

1. No denim jeans, jogging suits or athletic joggers are allowed.
   
   

2. Leggings or tights are not to be worn as outer clothing.
   
   

3. Sun dresses or dresses with spaghetti straps are allowed provided they are worn with a jacket or cardigan.  *Bra straps must not be visible.
   
   

4. Skirts and dresses two inches above the kneecap are allowed.  Dressy walking shorts (Bermuda shorts) are allowed only if worn with dress shoes/sandals and a dressy blouse.  Physical Education (P.E.) teachers may wear athletic clothing, including shorts, while teaching P.E.
   
   

5. Shirts, blouses or dresses which expose the midriff or cleavage are not allowed.
   
   

6. On designated jean days, jeans with holes or rips are not allowed.
   
   

7. Pierced jewelry may only be worn in the ears.
   
   

8. Hair is to be kept neat, clean and free from distraction.
   
   

9. Caps, hats, visors and head coverings shall not be worn on campus during the school day unless in designated areas (ex. Sports fields, welding shop, etc.)

MALE EMPLOYEE DRESS

1. Beards and hair must be neatly groomed and free from distraction.
   
   

2. Shirts with a collar must be worn with only the collar button open.
   
   

3. No denim jeans, jogging suits or shorts are allowed. Physical Education (P.E.) teachers may wear athletic clothing, including shorts, while teaching P.E.
   
   

4. Pierced jewelry may only be worn in the ears.
   
   

5. Belts are to be worn with pants with belt loops. Suspenders may be substituted for belt.
   
   

6. On designated jean days, jeans with holes or rips are not allowed.
   
   

7. Caps, hats, visors and head coverings shall not be worn on the campus during the school day unless in designated areas (example: sports fields, welding shop, etc...)
